I first started reading this author when I happened upon The Aerie Doms series. I wasn't sure that this series could compare BUT this book blew me away. Extremely well plotted, characters were well developed and believable and most importantly the establishment of the characters new D/s relationship was realistic and plausible. Thacher writes BDSM flawlessly and this book is no exception. Cannot wait for the rest of the Lawyer to the Doms series (please tell me there is more?!)Product details

The Bequest A BDSM Romance Lawyer to the Doms Book 1 edition by Christina Thacher Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Sara is a professional CFO by day, and a submissive by night. She is in a Master/slave relationship with a man she lives with and is satisfied with her life. Her Master dies suddenly, and Sara expects to move out and move on with her life until she finds out that her Master left her to his nephew, who also inherited the rest of his estate. Cal is a struggling composer who never knew the uncle who died and left him everything. He is confused by finding out that his uncles sub was left to him in the will. Cal is completely unfamiliar with BDSM and has no desire to be abusive to any woman. When Cal and Sara meet for the first time they are very attracted to one another. There is a lot of awkwardness due to the unusual situation, but Sara would very much like to submit to Cal, if only her were a Dom. Cal realizes that he is willing to learn about this lifestyle if it could get him closer to Sara.
This book isn't long, but there is plenty of character development and the story is completely explored. There are a lot of interesting dynamics here with the characters and situation that kept me engaged throughout. Watching these characters go through an intelligent and thorough process of getting into an unusual relationship in a healthy way was pretty great. Cal is a great Dom and knowing that he is taking a thoughtful approach to his learning and developing was really sexy. Sara is struggling a bit with moving from one D/s relationship where there was no love between she and her Master to one where she has a lot of emotion invested was very interesting to experience. The sexual chemistry between Sara and Cal was intense and it was clear that they could be great together if they could sort things out properly. I liked this story a lot and would gladly read more by this author in the future.
My Rating 4.5 Stars
"She wasn't that girl, the one who got a happy ending."
The Bequest is an enjoyable, satisfying, and sexy BDSM romance. The author has fit a full story in just a novella, complete with relatable three-dimensional characters and an engaging plot. It's a deliciously sensual read a well executed combination of kinky sex and tender romance.
Sara and Cal's story held my attention from the very first pages, and kept it the entire time. They have a tentative chemistry at first that blossoms in to so much more. She explores not only the sexual aspects of their tentative D/s relationship, but touches on the emotional issues as well. As Cal is a composer, music is cleverly woven in to the story, providing a rich texture to the entire book. I thoroughly enjoyed this couple's story the hot sex and tender romance, and especially watching Cal find his way in the world of BDSM, with the help of entertaining secondary characters. My only fault with the story was that the ending seemed rushed, but perhaps I was simply enjoying my time with these characters, and it didn't wish to see it end.
This novella is perfect for a single sitting; a sexy, romantic, satisfying, and wholly enjoyable read.
*I received a complimentary copy of the novella in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I love a good BDSM story, and this one was it. Some of these books just do too much and they try too hard. But I think this was perfect. There was just the right amount of push and pull, give and take. It was a story of a Dom and a Sub, and though there was BDSM, there was romance too.
So I really liked the premise of the story. Sara's master dies and leaves her to his broke, loner nephew that he hardly even spoke to. Realistically, she didn't have to go to the nephew, but circumstances kind of pushed them together. I liked Cal. At first you think he's some kind of weak little boy that is going to have to be turned into a Dom, but it turns out he already is one. He just didn't know it. I really liked how he could all Dom-ish one moment and then be pretty damn sweet the next. I really thought he was kind of cute and just took charge of the strange situation he was thrown into. He fit with Sara's character as there was no doubt that she loved being a submissive. I say, if you're going to be a Dom or Sub, you better commit to it. In this book, it made for more interesting characters because they both committed to their roles and enjoyed them. I also liked Lyon, the lawyer to the Doms, and I'm interested in finding out more about him. He definitely has a story to tell.
Though HOT, I've read better BDSM sex scenes. But I was pleased with these. I think I just really liked Cal and Sara, so the scenes worked for me. The two had great chemistry so the passion was seamless.
Do I recommend? Yes! The book isn't long at all and gets right to the point. I practically read it in one sitting. I haven't read the other books in this box set, but I definitely give this one a thumbs up.
Enjoy the author and the book kept me wanting more.can not wait until her other books on the subject come out
I enjoyed this book. It was an unusual premise. Totally unbelievable of course, but that is what escapist fiction is all about.
It appears to be going to be the first of a series, and I would certainly read more by this author.
